“Leap of Courage: Skydiving for Scannappeal!”

Team ‘ Let Go and Skydive’ conquered their fears and all seven jumped out of the plane on Saturday 28th September for charity Scannappeal. They could not have asked for a better day as the sun shone its rays down on them. The team consisted of  BJ Tailor, Therese Cooklin, Neil Walker, David Brown, Rupert Cooklin, Ben Naylor-Smith, and Mimi Harker OBE.

The adrenaline-filled adventure began with a heart-racing free fall strapped to their instructors of a mile and a half, reaching speeds of 120 mph after just 10 seconds. Once the parachutes deployed, they floated gracefully down for another 5,000 feet, savoring the breathtaking views before safely landing on solid ground.

Their goal was to raise £10,000 for Scannappeal – a tough feat but thanks to their friends, family, general public frequenting Tescos in Old Amersham, businesses, advertisers of the Together magazines they have so far raised a colossal amount of £11,375.64 (including Gift Aid)

The money raised from this fundraiser will go towards the Spinal Surgery appeal. A generous local supporter will match fund any amount totaling a maximum of £50,000 up until December 2024. So far it has doubled to £22,751.28. Let’s continue to fundraise to potentially reach £100,000 by the end of the year.

Thank you for backing us on this thrilling adventure to overcome our fears and make a positive impact for the community and for Scannappeal to carry on its amazing work.
