Competition terms and conditions

These standard terms apply to every competition we run, alongside any specific terms published with an individual competition.

Last updated: July 2026. These terms should be reviewed by a qualified adviser before publication.

1. The promoter

Unless stated otherwise on the competition itself, the promoter is Community Together Communications Limited. Contact: marketing@communitytogether.co.uk.

2. Eligibility

  • Competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 or over, unless a different age is stated on the competition.
  • Some competitions are limited to residents of a particular community - this will be stated clearly.
  • Employees of the promoter, of the prize provider, and their immediate families, may not enter.
  • Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted.

3. How to enter

  • Entry is free and no purchase is necessary.
  • Enter using the entry form on our website, completing all required fields including the competition question.
  • One entry per person per household, unless stated otherwise.
  • Entries received after the closing date will not be counted.
  • We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or incorrectly submitted.

4. Closing date

The closing date is published with each competition. The promoter may extend or withdraw a competition where circumstances make it necessary, and will publish any change.

5. Winner selection

  • Winners are drawn at random from all correct entries received by the closing date.
  • The draw is supervised by an independent person where the prize value makes that appropriate.
  • The promoter's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. Notifying winners

  • Winners are contacted using the email address supplied, normally within 14 days of the closing date.
  • If a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the first attempt, or does not claim the prize, the promoter may award it to an alternative winner.
  • The surname and county of winners can be supplied on request by emailing us.

7. Prizes

  • Prizes are as described and are non-transferable.
  • There is no cash alternative.
  • Where a prize is supplied by a third party, that provider is responsible for fulfilling it, and its own terms may apply.
  • If a prize becomes unavailable, the promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
  • Travel, insurance, spending money and any other costs are the winner's responsibility unless expressly stated.

8. Your data and consent

  • We use your details to administer the competition and to contact you if you win.
  • The marketing consent boxes are entirely optional. Entering a competition does not sign you up to any mailing list unless you tick the relevant box.
  • We will only share your details with the prize provider if you have given separate, explicit consent for that.
  • Entry data is deleted within six months of the closing date, except where we need to keep it for a prize dispute.
  • See our privacy policy for full details and your rights.

9. Publicity

Winners may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity - for example a photograph in the magazine. Participation is optional and we will always ask first.

10. General

  • The promoter may disqualify any entry it reasonably believes to be fraudulent, automated or in breach of these terms.
  • Competitions are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by any social media platform.
  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
